About

Berk Dalkılıç is a tenor soloist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. He began his musical education at the age of nine in the Piano Department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory. In 2011, he was admitted to the Part-Time Opera (Vocal) Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory.

In 2016, he continued his studies at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in the Czech Republic within the Erasmus Program. He graduated in 2017 from the Opera Department of Haliç University Conservatory, where he studied voice with Arses Eral. The same year, he was accepted into the Master’s Degree Opera Program at the Vienna State Conservatory, selected among 75 candidates, and worked with Prof. Claudia Visca. He later completed his master’s degree at Okan University under the guidance of Prof. Seta Kürkçüoğlu.

Between 2016 and 2018, he was a member of the BİFOACADEMY Opera Studio, where he worked on stage performance, acting, and repertoire with Prof. Yekta Kara. During this period, he performed the role of Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and participated in stage and repertoire studies in Der Rosenkavalier.

Throughout his artistic development, he has worked with distinguished figures of the opera world, including Prof. Güzin Gürel, Claudia Visca, Sascha Goetzel, Eva Mei, Renato Bruson, Giuseppe Sabbatini, Luciana Serra, and Vincenzo Scalera. At the Janáček Academy, he studied with Zdenek Plech, Helena Kaupova, and Galina Aleskhevich.

In 2018, he performed the role of Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in Teplice and Jablonec (Czech Republic), and appeared in a gala concert at the renowned Smetana Hall. He also performed selected excerpts from Die Zauberflöte and Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Hamburg Bergedorf Music Festival. To date, he has taken part in approximately 20 opera productions and concerts in the Czech Republic.

Berk Dalkılıç has received several awards, including Third Prize at the Siemens Opera Competition, Third Prize and the Special Stage Interpretation Award at the Izmir National Young Soloists Competition, and the Grand Prix at the Caspi Art Music Competition in Bulgaria.

Since 2019, he has been performing as a tenor soloist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, appearing in major tenor roles such as Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio), La Bohème (Rodolfo), Falstaff (Fenton), Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Pedrillo), Der fliegende Holländer (Steuermann), Die Zauberflöte (Tamino), and La Traviata (Alfredo Germont). He has also appeared as a soloist in numerous institutional concerts and festivals.

He performed the leading role of the Narrator in Gilgamesh, composed by Ahmed Adnan Saygun based on the Epic of Gilgamesh. In 2020, he participated in the Young Opera Stars Concert within the Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival. He has also performed Franz Schubert’s Winterreise in recital with pianist Gizem Dalkılıç.

Since 2023, he has appeared as a guest artist in the Czech Republic and continues his international career. In the 2025–2026 season, he performs the role of Fadinard in Nino Rota’s Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, with performances currently ongoing.

He continues his vocal and artistic studies with Prof. Güzin Gürel.
